First Aid (Advanced)

Course Overview

This course is aimed at providing ‘appointed persons’ with the required knowledge and understanding to enable them to provide adequate emergency first aid cover. This advanced program is designed for the personnel that work in remote areas and in potentially dangerous areas where the risk of being exposed to serious hazards is very high. The ability of nominated team to react properly to different types of traumas will be one of first priorities.

Course Content

Day 1 

  • Registration of participants.
  • Introduction of instructor and delegates.
  • Induction. Aims and objectives of the course.
  • Primary responsibilities of rescue team.
  • Chain of life support.
  • Risks for rescuers.
  • Main precautions while performing the first aid.
  • Anatomy.
  • Respiratory system. Circulatory system.
  • Basic principles of primary survey.
  • Accident scene evaluation.
  • Primary survey. Lateral position.
  • Theory. Practical session.
  • Primary survey. Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Theory. Demonstration. Practical drills.
  • CPR specifications in conditions of asphyxia (drowning, trauma, poisoning).
  • Foreign body in airways - asphyxia.
  • Symptoms, action consequence to deliver the first aid.
  • Situational games. Practical session.

Day 2 

  • Question – answer.
  • Quick overview of delivered material.
  • Secondary survey.
  • Shock.
  • Wounds and bleeding. Types of wounds
  • Types of bleeding
  • First aid for external and internal bleeding.
  • Bleeding from specific places.
  • Injuries infection.
  • Practicing the skills to stop and control
  • different types of bleeding. Bandaging.
  • Damage of soft issues.
  • Dislocation and fractures.
  • Specific areas of fractures.
  • Head injuries.
  • Eye injuries
  • General exigent conditions. Chest injury
  • Back injuries.
  • Injuries of abdominal cavity organs.
  • Foreign body (eye, ear, nose)
  • Preparation for transportation and transportation of victim.

Day 3 

  • Question – answer.
  • Quick overview of delivered material.
  • Extreme temperatures effect.
  • Burns.
  • Intoxication.
  • Dizziness. Unconscious condition
  • Snake bite. Insects and animals bites.
  • Anaphylactic (allergic) shock.
  • Stenocardia. Heart arrest (myocardial infarction).
  • AED Automated External Defibrillator management.
  • Insult and ischemic attack.
  • Diabetes (hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia).
  • Asthma.
  • Convulsions.
  • Emergency medical response plan.
  • Medical triage. Patient transportation.
  • Preparation for medical evacuation.
  • First Aid kit. Emergency equipment for transportation. Practical drills.
  • Written examination.
  • Discussion. Evaluation of the training.

Instructors

The course will be delivered by internationally certified First Aid Master Trainers with higher medical education and practical background in medicine. The language of course is Russian.

Certification

After the successful pass of course test and practical part each delegate will get certificate
